Google WomenTechmakers Ambassador 
Program Lead - Women Meet Tech at U.S. Consulate General HCMC, Vietnam

A college professor in Boston turned tech advocate in Vietnam. Lea Truc has inspired many young professionals in multiple community events and seminars by TEDx, Google Developer Group Vietnam, Google Developer Space - Singapore, Women in STEM program at the U.S. Consulate General - Ho Chi Minh City, Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative … around tech and women empowerment. At GDG DEVFEST VIETNAM, Lea is the female presenter / coding instructor alongside engineers and Google developer experts. Lea has been the judge and mentor for several local / regional hackathons and tech pitching competitions. She also get featured on the official Facebook Developer Success Stories. 

 

Lea’s mission is to make coding and tech more accessible for everyone especially women and minorities in Vietnam and around the region. She builds the first STEM program for Diversity & Inclusion in Vietnam, which has received Public Diplomacy Federal Awards by the U.S. Department of State. 

Lea's team led on to receive one of the top prizes for Regional Pitching for Advancing Gender Equality (sponsored by Department of State and is funded through a grant from U.S. Embassy Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei) together with other countries around South East Asia.

 

With a broad experience at international, governmental and NGOs institutions, Lea aims to foster social and economic impacts through technology and education.
